Nineteen members of Poca's Future Business Leaders of America attended the WV FBLA State Leadership Conference in Huntington, WV March 12-14. These students attended professional workshops, keynote speakers, networked with industry professionals, and competed in business and technology events against other members from across the state. the group was very successful in competition and many qualified to attend the FBLA National Leadership Conference this summer in Atlanta, GA. And Alyssa Smith who was elected WV State Treasurer! Additionally, Sullivan Richards and Michael Wagner were invited by the CEO of financial technology company Troutwood to serve as beta testers for their upcoming software programs.
Our students also partnered with Buffalo FBLA on a donation drive for the Ronald McDonald house of Huntington. Students donated cleaning supplies, children's activities, paper products, blankets, and snacks for RMH residents, and took a tour of the house where they learned how it runs and helps families with hospitalized children.
These students will be raising money to attend the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta this summer!
